The 2011 WoodExpo was hands-down the most energetic, educational, hands-on, and memorable woodworking furniture show / competition / seminar / workshop ever! Tommy displayed each of the projects featured in the first season of Rough Cut Woodworking with Tommy Mac. The students from the North Bennet Street School once again turned out in full force to display and represent their creative works from the past year.
Our WoodExpo 2011 featured craftsman: Glen Guarino, Phil Lowe, Steve Brown, and Allan Breed demonstrated woodworking skills such as Stack Lamination, Cabriolet leg shaping, Queen Ann chair building, Ball and Claw foot carving, and much more.
Whenever Glen, Phil, Steve or Allan were not center stage, our three workbenches remained constantly busy. With their own technical demonstrations and presentations, our exhibitors reached out to the very enthusiastic crowds attending the NEHS show. Below is a sampling of some of the presentations:
- Peter Turner: Facet shaping of shaker legs
- Rob Porcaro: Hand cut tenons
- Tom McLaughlin: Tilt top tea table legs
- Daniel Hayes: Dimensioning rough cut boards and laying out dovetails
