Alright who is up for a New England Chapter?????? I am already the SAPFM NE Chapter President so lets just start one up in the NE area. Any takers/interest? I know of two Eli & Tommy (that is if I can speak on their behalf).

I'm on 495 west of boston so i'd be up for something within reasonable driving distance. I'd be happy with most anything (not friday nights)

For those of you that are live in or near eastern MA i'm an active member of the EMGW

We should set something up @ Tommy's. So lets put our heads together and come up with something to demo.

I'd love to get involved... not sure I'm up to scratch quite yet and I have a squirrelly work schedule (2 weeks away and 2 weeks home), but I've already learned a lot from the forum.

Here in Wrentham, MA

I had a thought for potentially an interesting theme for the Frist new england 207 chapter meeting.

Basically everyone brings their dovetail/carcase saws and people can do a test drive of other makers saws. Everyone brings some scrap wood to practice on.

For example: I have an Adria DT saw but never messed around much with the L/N saws, or any number of makers. So i would let people cut a bit with my saw and they would let me cut a bit with their saw etc etc.

You also could do this sort of thing with chisels as well.

Mostly it's an excuse to get together for a few hours. It also doesnt force one particular person have to come up with some sort of demo that 1/2 the people are not interested in.

So tell me Gents. Will there be a meeting of the NE Chapter during the week of the NEHS? If yes, would you accept a visitor from Florida?

Rat.

So, it's been a solid 2+ months since the last post on this topic. Should we try to rebirth this elephant?

I would love to start something but man it is a lot of work. To make this a sucess it takes a lot of effort. Yet we should be able to do something.

Count me in. Its about a 5 hour road trip to Boston and a road trip would be nice. Weekends do not work well for me. If its weekdays I could team it up with something else and do some other stuff while there.

I'm sure Eli and tommy are burned out after the show so give 'em some time to breathe.

I'm in for most anything except saturdays.

I would suggest an informal gathering to start rather than a big deal. meet at a shop for a few hours, then order up some pizza's.

Tommy, the 28th sounds great! I think it would make some of us (ME  ) get off the sidelines and into the game. Would you mind posting your shop address so we can all find the shop.

Also, should we get a tentative count for the meeting?

Hey Guys,

I'm good with a kick-off on Mar 28 at 11. Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on how you look at it), for now I find myself unemployed, so I have a bit of extra time to spend on woodworking.

Once we can get this off the ground, maybe we make the meetings on a weeknight, or weekend morning, so we can include as many part-time woodworkers (like me) as possible.

Blue
