No power in my little cramped shop so anyother shop would be better. Unless your into squwinting to see your lines.

towne,

I'm not to far from you (down in Albany, GA). Of course, my shop was a pop-up gazebo that got wrecked in a storm last week, so I'm not much better than you are ;)

Still PM me if you find yourself down this way!

I'll open my shop up to anyone wanting to stop by. Coffee and internet is always on.

Location: Just 15 minutes north of Syracuse, NY. We are conveniently located in the center of the state.

Great Idea, There are no woodworking clubs here and though I do enjoy the solitary nature of woodworking, it would be great to have someone local to share my obsession with. I'm in Fredericton, New Brunswick Canada.

Hi there!

First post.
A little intro:

Constructiondate: 1970 (excellent year,... :D )
Country: Belgium
Profession: Chiropractor
Hobby: woodworking
woodworkinglevel: Kindergarten.... but eager to learn

Been looking through the posts and; as was expected ; no Belgian posts yet. .. So i guess that makes me president of the Belgian Chapter, and treasurer and secretary and ... etc.

Great website for a newbie like me, Mr T. Been spending most of my time sharpening my chisels (got a tormek T7 about to be delivered this week, looking forward to that) but i'm gonna jump in the thick of it by making something and posting a pic so all y'all can have a good chuckle at my expense :D ...

btw: got my education in the US of A (Dallas Texas; Parker College of Chiropractic) Spent 4 years studying in yer country before i came back and opened my practice back home in Europe. Good Times 8-)

Take to all of you later!

Hey John Z..Hope you are having a great 'spring' in Boise. If you get the chance, drop into 'Pengillies' pub in Boise on any night the 'Frim Fram 4' are playing and have a cold beer on me. :D

Ok, since I'm live in Florida, you will have to buy your own beer. Enjoy.

I see three other people in Virginia, I'd like to set up a Virginia chapter but we are all spread out. Anyone else in the southeast Virginia area besides me? Maybe someone who hasn't listed their location. Tommy- can we make city and state a mandatory entry when new members join?

have a great day

Chris

I'm in Los Alamos--anyone else in northern New Mexico?

I'm a beginner, getting started learning hand tools--sharpening, chisels, planes. I've been reading and watching the videos here for a while--it's great, and I really appreciate all the work you guys put into this place.

Right now I'm making a basic dovetail box for my chisels. making some excellent mistakes...best so far: I got the pins pointing opposite directions on either end of the same piece :o It took me a full minute to figure out why that mess wouldn't go together right, then I was laughing when it dawned on me....seeing some progress, too. Hope to start a step stool soon.

Tim

Hey Tim,
That's where I grew up! Neat place, I miss the Via Grande.
Now I'm in New York - who would have ever figured a native New Mexican would end up in NY of all places. Life has its strange twists and turns. I do enjoy the fact that we have water (no droughts) and the accessible hardwood around here is awesome.
Best wishes. Consume some green chile for me!
Clif
