Thats the first thing I noticed when I came on this afternoon farms.

Key words underlined or double underlined, direct links indeed.

It is rather annoying isn't it!

Now this is kind of interesting. Just for the heck of it, I left this forum topic and went to another and back to this one, quite a few times. Each time their were either NO words highlighted OR it was selecting ramdom words.

Pretty smart programing I would think, hits every viewer of each forum a little differently with links.

Well just don't let your mouse wander over the highlighted words :D

Advertising helps support the site.

Never the less it's still irritating to have to sort out the useful links from the fake links. Do some banners ads onthe side or somethign else less insidious.

We will certainly take all of your feedback into consideration regarding leaving the links in the forum. Thanks!

Woodworking, Shoes, Cellphone, Television... I figure at least one of those should get an underline. ;)

The links are seriously annoying now! I lost 3-4 paragraphs trying to edit a reply of mine.

Now that you have banner advertising, Loose the freaking links!

I understand the need to advertise to help offset costs but to have random words highlighted and pop up a window blocking the post you are reading......

really???

Check your servers. My computer is showing encrypted computer code where the google advertising used to be. tried to upload a screen shot but no place for photos in this forum.

Hi Guys, thanks for all the comments. Yes, these are ads and they do help pay to keep the site live. I will try tweaking/limiting them a bit to make them more tolerable. I have used this before on other sites and it has not interfered technically with site function.

Thanks for you patience,

Pallemaker 207

Hi Guys, so I have changed the ads to only display 4 per page. I am hoping that is not too much of a distraction ;-) I will see how they layout and try to evenly distribute.

Thanks for understanding!

Why thank you very much Pallet Maker :)

Question, I know its for support of the 207 but does it only work if you click on it?

Have a wonderful day!

Hi Ritz, so these are ads that are hopefully relevant to the content. The idea is if you roll over the double underlined word an info box (basically an ad) will pop up. If you click on it, you go to the advertiser site and our site makes a small amount of money. I understand that ads can be annoying, but these somewhat targeted ads, to me, are less distracting than BIG FLASHING BOXES :-)

Thanks for asking,

Palletmaker207

Is it just happening to me, or does anyone else not get the prompt for "first unread post" on this forum? It's annoying to have to scroll down to find the new stuff.
