ok guys this is something i never do ....i am going to tell you what to buy.....its a blade from burns tool in fall river ma.so hold off on buying anything until you get a chance to read the post by Zack from Burns.....

Thanks for the intro and the plug, Tom. The blade that Tom is referring to is one that my grandfather, Marshall Burns (now 89), developed over the years. It is a 10" 40T ATB top-of-the-line choice. Tom tried one out and is obviously happy with the results.

Here is a link to the blade on our site:
http://www.burnstools.com/default.aspx?page=item%20detail&itemcode=13945

We guarantee that it is better than all 10" blades in its class, including the WW2. Its nothing fancy, just a solid, industrial saw blade that many of our customers swear by.

If you like to 'talk shop' and feel like talking saw blades, feel free to call my grandfather. He still comes in to work every morning, Monday through Saturday. He's usually here from 7 to 11-ish, and would LOVE to talk to anyone willing to listen (just ask Tom!) :D

He was also inducted into the Tool of the Trade Hall of Fame a couple years ago:

I'd be happy to offer anyone on this forum 10% off the JB1040 blade. Just mention TChisel in the notes section at checkout if you place your order online!

Thanks,
Zach Burns

great you wont regret it ...i love that blade...i only use it when its a real important cut or series of cuts...the steel is harder than other blades so it never wobbles....i have cut 16/4 12/4 all sorts of crazy ripping...the thing never lets me down.....when i first got it..me and al ripped some really big hard maple....NO PROBLEM!!! if i didnt believe this blade was the best i never would have gotten behind it....its an added bonus that the guy who makes it is really cool along with his family.....i like family businesses..... :geek:

Got my blade today... I don't know alot about blades yet but I'll say this one works alot better than any other one I've had yet. I cross cut a bunch of white oak and the cuts were really nice and clean. I'll probably look into some of their other blades in the near future.

Received my Burn's blade today and it came with a cool Burn's tee shirt. The only problem with the tee shirt is that it is an XL...don't know if I will be able to get the thing over my chest and big gut.

First appearance of the blade is that it looks exactly like a Forrest Woodwooker II blade. Tommy did mentioned that the Woodworker II was copied off the Burn's blade...I just did not expect it to look like an exact copy. When school starts again in the fall, I will test the blade out and give my opinion. I will be surprised if it does not perform the same or better as the WWII blade...due to how much is looks like the WWII blade.

Tommy,

As I mentioned before, my shop is closed until Sept....taking care of Sean all summer. Will try the blade out then.

I have a Forest WW2 on my current saw and , when I complete the rebuild of my 1957 Rockwell Unisaw, I will be buying a Burns for it. That way I'll have a first-hand comparison. Maybe I will buy it sooner... I'm having a hard time locating a good replacement motor for the original 3 phase... I'd like a quality American made motor and the ones I have found (imports) are kinda cheesy.

I will let let you know.

Bill

I used my blade to cut up some old pressure treated 2 bys. Nah, just kidding. Been working on cars and my deck this week. Will fire it up tomorrow and post some comments.

I had to get a new blade so I got the Burns. Put it on my Powermatic and it has never cut any better. :D The T-shirt was an added surprise.
