Hello all, I have an oak table, 4'x4' with 8-12" inserts. Personal project so not really any time limit to refinish/restore.

Problem is it has 5 legs and I am missing one corner leg! Some overall dimensions: length 26-1/4", Largest dia. 4-3/8", barley/rope twist is 1-3/8 from outside to outside.

Judging from end grain, it appears to be a three piece glue up, judging from opening of glue joints on two legs. legs are attached with cut wooden threaded screw.

Does anyone know who can replicate or does anyone have one laying around

Thanks in advance,

Richard

Looks to me like this would have to be hand carved or done by someone with one of those fancy ornamental lathes. Even then they would be somewhat limited by the cutters they have for the lathe. I think hand carving is the only real option other than replacing all of the legs as a set.

seems like a good reason to pick up a few carving tools and play around.

That pattern can be done on the lathe with a router, a couple of bits, a sled attachment on the lathe (shop built), a shop built template and an indexing wheel bolted to the head of the lathe (also shop built).
