I am new to the site and very exited to have found it. I am a novice but I'm always looking to improve. I just wanted to relate that a few months ago I was at the admissions center at Dartmouth College, and had a few moments to realize that they had a bombe chest of drawers at the far end of the waiting area before being called out of the room. There was about 50 people in the room and they called us out before I could examine it, but from a distance it looked beautiful...very substantial looking, seemed to have an internal mass greater than its dimensions would lead you to think. Does that make sense? It had a small plaque above it which I could not read, but I am sure it's recognized as an important piece. Its pantina indicated all was original, but again I only had a few moments to check it out. Does anyone know about this piece that I am talking about? If my daughter gets the call back, I'll be ready with camera in hand and I will post the pictures. If you have reason to be on the campus check it out on the second floor of admissions.

Welcome to our MLW 207 Forums. I had heard of the Dartmouth "Bomb", but I thought she was a Sophomore Coed . Thanks for letting us know about the real one. If you can, please go back there and take some pictures. Many of us who have little opportunity to get to Dartmouth would love to see it.
