I need to carve a basket weave pattern on some corbels for a mantle. I have looked all over the net with no luck. I have worked on it and its not to bad but any tips would be of great help.

Fredrick Wilbur would be a good place to start. I have two of his books which are quite informative and cover just about every aspect of carving, mainly the architectural carving book which covers basket weave. Fred usually responds to e-mail questions.
