I know that the dims in the DVD are just a starting point, and are not "hard and true", but here is something to consider. Where are you going to put the Tool Box? Not a stupid question. I don't think you are going to put it on your work bench. So where are you going to put it? I bet a lot of you guys have rolling tool chests. Image Although they vary in sizes, a lot of them are too small for the tool box as listed in the DVD's stock list. I have several and they provide room for a Tool Box with a footprint of 26 x 17 7/8. As a result, I'm making mine that size. I had to do it anyway, 'cause my stock was too small to make it the size in the video. If you already have a place picked out, check the size before you make your Tool Box. You may change your dimensions too.

I was thinking about making a simple base for it with simple stretchers and legs. I cringe thinking about putting that thing on top of a metal tool cabinet.

I was thinking about putting mine on one of the workbench counters in the shop.

I found this toolbox with a built-in lid. That feature would alter the dims a little bit. Here's a picture with the lid tucked away.

When the lid comes down, it even has a small lock at the bottom to secure it. Pretty neat!

Looks like it might be an NBSS Box! You might have been inspired by the original boxes sister! Love that red color.

This tool box may not be the original box's sister, but may be a distant relative. How about an "Arts and Crafts" influenced, frame and panel, tool box?

This piece definately is similar to the NBSS tool box. Notice on the bottom side rail, that there is a curved relief so the tool box can be picked up more easily. It also uses drawer runners on the sides of the case, thus eliminating the drawer dividers. This design has an open bottom, and "IMO" is not as strong as the "207" tool box. Here's a second cousin to the NBSS tool box by Molina Wood Studio.

When you open the drawers you can really see the resemblance.

Very interesting video of a tool chest with several "hidden" compartments. If you haven't finished your tool box, maybe you could change a few dimensions and incorporate a secret compartment into your project.
