I just finished watching the tool box videos, and I am impressed. I will be watching these again, probably a number of times, as there is so much there to learn, and Tommy does such a great job of presenting it in a down to earth manner that leaves you feeling like you're in a buddy's shop getting a few pointers from a friend.

Tommy my friend, thank you for putting these on line for us to enjoy and to learn from. I once told a teacher of mine in school that, while many may work in the classroom, a true teacher is a rare and precious thing. Many students will go through their entire journey in the education system without meeting even one such individual. I was blessed enough to have known two such people during my time in the school system. One was my grade 6 teacher, an ex British school master who believed in going the extra mile to ensure that his students learned not just what the curriculum demanded, but what they were capable of achieving, no matter how much extra time and effort this meant for him. The other was my high school sheet metal shop teacher, who ran his class like a small commercial shop, complete with having a coffee truck stop there for a "coffee break" during our 4 period shop class once a week. I learned more from those two men than from every other "teacher" I had combined.

Tommy, I have now been blessed even more in finding my third true teacher, you.

Thank you for the time and effort you have expended on our behalf, both in hosting us here in our little community of folks with sawdust in their blood and for the excellent instructional material you provide for those of us looking to improve our skills in our chosen craft. This isn't just a web site, it's a family. Thanks, "dad".

Paul
the grateful little guy

Tommy congrats on the premier of your new show. You worked really hard to get there. As someone who bought the DVDs I have no problem at all with you releasing them on the web site. I have noticed that you have a lot of requests for the MLW tools. I think these are probably doable as do-it-yourself projects with the exception of the bench bat unless there are a lot of turners out there. Might be a good idea to release so plans so people can build there own or do a show on some DIY tools.

Hopefully Chicago area PBS stations will get their act together and get this show into this market.

Even though I purchased the videos, I think it's great that Tommy made them available to the internet woodworking community. Since Tommy made the Tool box videos available on line, there have been 28287 views (0530 EST, 10/20/2010). I'm convinced his generosity has lead to the increase in our 207 Forum's activity and the addition of many new Forum members. All of this is a darn good thing.

Oh yeah, I will keep my videos safe and secure. Now if I can get "The Man" to autograph them for me, they may become "Collector's Items".
