Hope everyone had a nice Christmas, I figured I would give a quick update. I didn't get a ton done on the cabinet through the holidays.
Now I have been in desperate need for a router table and it just so happened that I received the Kreg pocket hole jig for Christmas and wanted to try it out. Now I will never use the jig for anything I consider fine furniture, but after using it to build the table, I have to say it does have its place in my shop! Awesome tool.
So this past weekend I cranked a router table out. I still need to put some dust collection on it as well as a door. I made it from 3/4" baltic birch and the Kreg router table top. I had some left over 2" foam insulation from when I insulated my garage door and took the opportunity to use it on the base. The three sides received the 2" panels and the door will have a piece as well. Hopefully it will eliminate some of the noise. I will let you know as soon as I finish it up. So far so good.
I should also mention it is outfitted with a Jessem Mast-R-lift I bought a while ago. Its nice to finally get some use of it

I built it to be just 1/16 under my table saw top to use as an out-feed table. With a small shop like mine, Multi-use is essential.
Here are a few photos of the router table as well as a quick mock up of the lower stretcher design I worked on last night. I roughed out a couple scrap pieces to get the feel for the curves right. Nothing like seeing it in real 3D space. I like where its going and will start to make some templates.
P.S. I'm working on catching my blog up to my posts on here. Check it out if you like
