Hi All, been a while since I posted anything, thought I'd start a play by play on my attempt at a footstool ;)

Bought a copy of the DVD online and made a start last weekend. First attempt at carving, second time I've ever used this timber! (Malaysian timber called Melunak) So far I am happy with my progress, thanks for looking

Joe,

Looking good! Nice play by play. Can you take some detailed photos as you go through the carving steps?

Thanks for posting, the board has been needing some action lately. Cal

Sorry guys, I have been really slack. :(

Afterwalking around this partially built stool for over 12 months I have continued to work on it.

Attached are some current progress pics, firstly the sides after being glued together. The rest of the pictures are of the initial oiling stage boy the shine really makes the legs come to life.

The wife wants it turned into a small table so i'll work on a suitable top this weekend and hopefully put some finish on it.

Anyway thanks for looking

joez
