So I am curious to know what this forum has planned for the future? For it seems like it is not as alive as it use to be.

Freddy,

Good observation. Things have been slow lately. Feel free to post some of your work and help pick things up.

Bruce

I'd agree with that lads.. though with any luck i'll have something new to post within a couple of days..

I'm currently modifying our front entry way. Currently we have double doors, but becauseof the design of the house there is no airflow during summer.. and its gets bloody hot down under.. So making it a single door with side lights. I havent been taking pictures as i go through as speed is important.. i've had to get it to a point each day that i can reassemble everything how it was... i'm pretty sure SWMBOwouldnt like a gaping hole in th front o of the house over night ;)

Anyway.. it'll all be finished tomorrow. All the frame work is done.. and the pieces were dry fit last week.. so tomorrow is final install, then i run up to my brothers workshop to get the glass (he's a glazier) and we're sorted.

anyway.. pics on sunday

this is the way its gone on for years...the summer is not the season of choice for woodworkers..its garden, house, kid time...and i have not produced any content either...its getting old ...i hope to get more here but i am in a weird world with lots of new rules that need to be understood before i just jump in like i use to....i always said this forum is what you make of it...people come and go.....i haven't seen freddy in a very long time post projects or what ever...but i also know you have a new job and are probably busy with your life like most of us who pop in and out....but at least it is still a great forum for those who make it their on line community....i do..i am not on line that much..

Tommy,

Your participation, like everyone else's, is appreciated when it fits your schedule. Have a great weekend!

I agree with Tommy and probably most of the regs. Summer is a bugger, as for me been all sorts of busy with a remodel at work now a new building going up etc. etc.

I have projects just taking up space in my mind and on paper at the moment. PLUS all the summer handyman projects for family and friend.

But life goes on and eventually the workshop calls all back to it :D

Things are picking up in my shop.... Not going to get much done this weekend ( My real job needs me) but I've arranged for some help for next weekend to assemble my current project.

Guilty as charged... On vacation with the family right now.. Yard projects have priority once I'm home.
Workshop time is in order next month. :)

I've been very busy lately - out of town for 18 days in June. For the last week I've been in the shop cleaning, bringing lumber in and in the process of making 2 - 36" base cabinets and a couple of wall cabinets for the shop and a Pennsylvania secretary . Hopefully the cabinets will increase my storage ability. Its the one thing I never seem to have enough of. Plus the exterior maint. of the house and shop.

I'm just the reverse of what Tommy says - the mojority of woodworking is done in the summer and very little in the winter/spring. Fall is hit or miss depending on when the snow comes.

I would love to show you all what I have been working on for the National Park Service for it is some pretty cool stuff, but I am under contract and forced not share anything to the public. I am now working on several pieces for the Boston show next year and will be posting it soon. I was curious to know what was going on in the forum for I have been away for so long. Just thought hey maybe I missed something, and I just needed to ask. I know we all get busy but I just think that there is still something here for all to enjoy and share.

Guilty as charged. I peek around a bit, just to see what people are working on. Myself, been working on a side table copied from Ben Hobbs place. Been working on it FAR FAR toooooo long. Maybe it has something to do with a 6 month old child ruling the roost. Mmmm.....

When the weather gets nice its really easy to find an excuse not go into the basement and work in the shop.
