No tool stores in Boston that sell Veritas then ! So bought online from LV and having stuff shipped to where I'm staying...

LV customer service is excellent, buying from them is a pleasure, recommended !

The tools are good too! 3 hand planes from them now, all excellent tools, much better than the LN's I have also owned and gone on to sell.

Veritas is, I believe, a house brand of Lee Valley and I don't think they sell them through other stores. Might be wrong, but that's what I wuz dun tol'.

I have been a customer of Lee Valley for many years and have found their service and merchandise second to none. I bought a Veritas medium shoulder plane a short while back and it was shipped in excellent condition and in a timely manner. I don't think you can go wrong ordering from them (IMHO).

Hi George.

Let me second that motion about LV's service. I've never found a better informed bunch of sales people in any line. They're always polite and patient with you, no matter how busy the store might be. If you're after bargain basement prices on cheap Taiwan built crud, this is defenately not the place for you, but if you're looking for top quality tools at honest prices from fellow woodies, go no further.

The plane is due here on Thursday!it'll be the 3rd one I'll own, I also have the Med Shoulder and the LA Block. We can get the veritas stuff in lots of places in the UK but prices are very stiff in comparison with here. Martha's Vineyard is beautiful place from what I've seen so far :D

Hope things are going will with the Missus Tiny..

I got my Veritas DT saw at woodcraft. I think this might be the only Veritas tool they have there other then layout tools. I dont think they carry the planes.

The plane turned up, a bit bigger than I expected, nice ! will not use it till I get home from the trip as I have no waterstones to hone up the blade.

My friend has just shown me a big stack of Purpleheart in maybe 3/4" x 6" to 8" wide boards 8ft long, all ready surface planed which were bought for very little :D . Think it would be nice to use them to line the inside of a cabinet. Maple or Black Walnut outside then a nice purple surprise when opened, one for the future if I get back here for a longer stay ;)
