Hi,

I'm not very experienced and I'm trying to make a cabinet for my wife. It's in a space with odd angles. One side meets the back of the cabinet at 138 degrees. The table saw will only tilt to 45 degrees, about 2 degrees shy. Should I build it that way and shim it out or is there another way to do it?

I'm not an expert either; but if it's only 2 degrees you could easily shim it. Otherwise you could build a simple jig to hold the wood at the desired angle to get your 138 degrees.

if you only need 2 degrees, see if you can move your 45 degrees stop. The saw may have enough extra adjustment.

Thanks. I never thought of using a jig. I appreciate both suggestions, and being who I am I'll probably just shim it out.

Cut it @45 degrees, a sharp hand plane will make quick work of the rest. Another way is to hold the part perpendicular to the table-(Be careful as this can be dangerous)
