Thanks to all of you who commented and all who participated in this thread from the beginning.

NY, I was really pleased with the photos...they were taken by my neighbor Wesley Lewis in Overland Park, KS, who is a good guy and a great photographer. Well worth it for anyone who wants to publish any pictures of their pieces.

Lastly, the length of time to do this play by play should encourage you all. Swedishiron, Rat, Whit Smith, all of you, keep plugging away and finish up those projects! We want to see them!

Thanks again, CH

Cal,

I'm actually working on two projects. One for my wife (the built in storage unit) and my Daughter In Laws Christmas present. Just mundane woodworking projects. But, I am working on a design for a new project to be started soon. More on that later.

So what I want to know is did you join the Hobbs Charleston Bed Build? I can't believe you left all the fun to Matt.

Cal,

I have to tell you, That is truly magnificent museum grade work. Really beautiful :D

Thanks so much for the play by play and inspiration it gives us all.

How many hours do you figure you have in it total??

And its none of my business but if you were to sell it what would it go for and how would you arrive at that price?

Thanks guys for the mention. It is nice to be in the mag. I'm pretty sure they like the story (3 desks) better than the woodwork!

Ritz, I have between 300-450 hours in the desk, but it was difficult to estimate as i did it in "spare" time over 2 years. As for cost, it's be tough to say, but it is clear that to be paid anything for my time it would be upwards of what most people would want to pay.

Whit, ALWAYS good to hear from you. Can't wait to see what you start turning out when you get your shop put together. As for my current plans, they are pretty lean. Have a little chippendale stool I need to finish, as well as a turned bed that needs to be completed. After that who knows? CH
