Hey Tommy
Pretty catchy heading? Should I have a new member name (biggest liar dude). Ok I never built a Bombe so I fudged a little. I have now watched all of the Bombe series.
I have to admit when I first starting watching I thought who is this young guy he doesn't know anything, then
I saw you had won a very prestigious furniture show. So I thought dumb luck but he must know something.
Well I kept watching and saw your work ethic ,some of the hardships in your life, some of the mistakes you
You had to over come building this secretary. And thought about my original thoughts and came to the conclusions I was right in the first place (just kidding). I realized I was jealous as hell because I always wanted to attend North Bennet Street School but lived to far away and had to keep working just to keep myself and family afloat. In watching You hard at work I'm so glad a guy like you had the chance to attend NBSS and that it was time well spent for a exceptional and talented man like you. It's hard to believe you could make such a one of a kind beautiful piece of furniture, film it ,and share how to do it all at once. Thanks for sharing.
I wondered if anyone has suggested putting a piece of masking tape over your router plane base to keep from scratching up your surface I noticed you had a problem with scratches on the Bombe. Another thing that I thought might have made things easier on your knuckles when you were smoothing the area that had been filled in on the area inside the cornice is if you used a Stanley 100 1/2 plane or a copy of one it's a lot smaller but still has a convex shape .You said you might want to take a carving class(I don't know why) I know a very well know lady named Nora Hall I think she might be in your area. lastly you say you have trouble with routers Charles Neil has a great DVD set out called Router Magic super tips that might make things easier He built a bombe in three weeks. I'm sure you know about these things but thought I might remind you if you need it in the future. To answer you Question. I'll keep watching keep up the good work.

Thanks
Jim Brokenbourgh

hey jim... i just want to say thanks ..i know my show seems totally messed up...like me :D all i did was turn a camera on and let it fly...i had no business even attempting a build like that ...never mind putting it out there for all to see and looking back some is good and not so good ...but the grind is awesome to witness ...i would have done all the things you suggested ..if i was aware of who and what you speak of at the time...i was totally unaware of the internet wood working community before i started...and its been great meeting all of you and not so great seeing what is being pushed as wood working...at least in my view....and to allot of other guys as well ...i think thats what makes the rough cut show pretty successful...i have no writer, producer, real editor, director, marketing dept,on line store,no links, really no nothing except honest woodworking...well i am wicked good looking and funny too :D ...so all i can say is THANK YOU to all who have thrown your support behind me and our show/forum...i really believe together we can over come all the hype presented by big brother pushing tools and what not every time we need a piece of good woodworking info.....

Tommy

I think your wrong . You did have business doing a build like the Bombe. As the saying goes "the proof is in the putting" you did it man , you really did it . You did it for all us wannabes who will never have the time , money, space, or especially the know hows. Not only did you do it you did it to your standards this not a small accomplishment be proud of it. I'm in my earl 60s and I doubt I'll ever have the chance to build such a piece but I learned a lot watching even though I've had my little furniture shop for 20+ years and I know many others have learned too. One other thing In you pod cast I really like the fact your not doing a Norm Abram thing even though I like his show, your real ,you goof off, you mess up you talk off subject sports whatever. I'm kinda of a no nonsense guy but I love all that stuff.

Have a Great Christmas

Mr. Tommy,
I'll throw my name in that pile also. I have to admit just starting out in woodworking the entire process of where to start and how to get there is very daunting. After finding your website and viewing over half of your vids i've now finished a few smaller projects. Spent some bucks on some tools and am working my way through. Your stuff is fantastic, you do a great job and how you do it is most appealing. Keep up the great work, with some luck I hope to start a few of your projects. Thanks for all the info you really help things along a lot more then you think. Keep those vids coming. Oh and the vid where you and Al visit Fine woodworking was freakin funny.

thanks you Sir.
