Never thought of it until now. But now that you mentioned it, I don't want to know about Tommy's or anyone else's stool.

I thought it was about more fiber in your diet. :D

Yeah, I'm the youngest of 7 kids and it's all about bathroom humor.

Oh man, that was a good one. I surely can envision it.

We had all kids in two rooms... 4 girls and 3 boys... with one bathroom upstairs. It got to the point that there was no privacy and we just took off the bathroom door as if you tried to lock the door, another one would pick the lock and just come on in. I can recall one doing their business, two girls crowding around the mirror doing makeup, and one in the shower. Sheesh. At least I'm not pee-shy now.

Hey T,

Congrats on FWW...told you you'd make the bigtime!...stay patient, you're on your way and you deserve it.
you too Al!
I can see it now....TCC on DTV (T-Chisel channel on direct TV; you heard it here first). Hell, it'd be better than anything else on.
Chop on,
Gary (who showed up at the Adams House that time, and another time)

P.S. My (step)stool's almost done, airdried walnut, will post pics. It was in progress and I put it aside for a few months, but now I've resolved to finish all my put-aside projects before starting any new ones. Finish it or put it in the woodstove, thats my motto. Lucky I still have 8 or 9 cords of legit firewood. That walnut DOES burn wicked good, though....
P.P.S. Neal, nice job on the Silas Kopf piece, I just bought his new book; it's pricey but outstanding.

TOMMY just saw the article online - had to tweak the link to get the PDF to show. Lookin good! Youll probably start to see the site's hit count take a big jump.

Popped over to www.finewoodworking.com and grabbed a copy of the article. How did they get you to look so serious on the cover shot? Is that the re-take right after you pinched the side of a finger driving the tails home? :)

Sweet article. I'm getting better at cutting dovetails, been practicing a little bit. Perhaps it is time to seriously consider this thing!

And by way of confession, I bought a dovetail router jig but that is because a kitchen remodel is high on the TODO list and I'm not sure I want to cut all those drawer half-blinds by hand! For an heirloom dresser (or would that be fruit-of-the-loom dresser?) yes, hand cut. Blanket chest? Yes, definately handcut. But not built-ins. And it is a guilty pleasure to play with the jig! ;)

yeah...fww takes there mag wicked serious....we had a blast at the shop for a couple of days....i think a jig is fine ..you can bang out some work and make some money too....i just think it is easier to buy the drawers all done from a company and pass the cost to the customer....thats thier thing...making drawers..not really mine....al make about 5 or 10 kitchens a year and he gets all the doors ,drawers, and fronts from a vendor..he makes the boxes and face frames does the install...it will be god to see your stool...

thanks again about the article...

Wow, that can have a lot of different meanings.

And I did think about buying the drawers pre-made (and still could I suppose) but I'm toying with the idea of making the faces from 3/4 or maybe bump out to 7/8 and rabbet them with the 1/2 blind DTs attaching to the sides. If I go this route I would want to make them so they match up better. Too many choices! Argh!

I guess along those lines it's appropriate that project "number 2" is a stool.
