Hey T and Chuck,

I'm fortunate that mine came with the original belt guard. I can definitely see a finger mangler otherwise !! :o

Still haven't taken pics yet. Last night was spent building a rolling base. I'll take pics of the pieces soon.

Erick

Hey Guys,

I wanted to give you an update on my Parks planer. I've finally assembled it, built a sturdy dolly for it, cleaned it up (not restoration quality clean, but functional clean), and spent the past 3 nights tuning this thing up. What's great about this planer is there are some many ways to fine tune it. What's a royal PITA, is that there are so many things to tune up. Thankfully, I'll only have to do this once a year or less. After running a couple of 4 and 6" wide test pieces, I put an 11" piece of flame birch, and man, it did a great job. Cleaned it up beautifully, creating some nice shavings.

I'll post pics tomorrow.

Erick

Home depot also has reconditioned Rigids for under $300.

However, I haven't seen them in stock for quite some time. :(
