THIS WEEK on Rough Cut – we are going to be building a blanket chest – with the same construction the pilgrims used back almost 400 years ago – basic mortise and tenon joinery – sweet!  There are also some great carvings on the front of this piece – which looks hard, but it really isn’t. and our Rough Cut Road Trip today brings us to the Whipple House in Ipswich, Massachusetts – where there is a great example of a blanket chest – built back in he 1600’s.
